Can We?

I'm a songwriter now. I just wrote my first complete (just over 3 minute) song! YAY! I'm going to post my lyrics on here. I recorded it, but it's just my raw voice...and if you know me, you know my singing is not the most beautiful thing. But anywho, here are the lyrics:

If there’s sand you wanna write your name on,
If there’s paths you wonder where they came from,
I don’t mind.
If there’s places you wanna go explore,
If there’s somethin’ but you’re wishin’ there was more,
I don’t mind.

From the first time that I saw your face,
I was fallin’ and scared half to death.

But if there’s a chance for us to make it,
Can we?
Seize the moment and take it,
Can we?
Find a shore somewhere and watch the waves roll in together,
Me and you.
Ohhhhhhhh Can we?

If this hope for a future that I have,
Is more than a mere reflection,
Can you say?
If the glimmer in your eyes is fadin’,
If I’m wakin’ up every day jaded,
Can you say?

From the first time that I saw your face,
I was hopin’ that we would say:

If there’s a chance for us to make it,
Can we?
Seize the moment and take it,
Can we?
Find a shore somewhere and watch the waves roll in together,
Me and you.
Ohhhhhhhh Can we?

Ohhhhhhhh Can we?

What Do I Call This?

I'm currently sitting here looking at a map, list of reservations, and set of internet tabs with things like "Zion National Park" and "Coyote Buttes" pulled up.

In addition to that, Lauren (my sister) and I just rolled back in town from Athens, where she was taking some of her placement tests for next semester when she begins at UGA. She just graduated this past weekend, so of course I went to the senior honors night and graduation ceremony on Friday and Saturday. We had a party for her on Saturday after the family went out for lunch too.

It was crazy seeing a lot of Westminster alumni this past Saturday at graduation, as several of the graduates had older siblings, many of whom were in my graduating class.

As I mentioned, today Lauren and I drove back from Athens. May I mention that M.J. does NOT like goats! I decided to take a dirt road today, and at the turn back on to the main road, there was a small herd of goats chilling in the middle of the road and grazing on some side-of-the-road grass. M.J. went crazy - barking, hair standing up on her back, the works.

In other news, I'm heading to the beach this weekend with some high school friends, heading to Colorado the next week, taking Lauren back up to Athens for orientation, and then hitting the road to head to Utah (all within the next couple of weeks)!

Somehow Lauren convinced me to go running with her tomorrow morning...we'll see what happens. I do need to start getting back in shape before I attempt to take on some of these 8-12 mile strenuous hikes this summer. It'll be worth it.

Till next week,

Megan

Here Comes Summer!

Well, technically it was summer for me as of last Monday, but I had to work through Tuesday, so I really wasn't done when I wrote my last blog post. For this past week, I have literately done NOTHING (and by nothing I mean I've had a lot of time to lay out, cook, pick strawberries, go places, read, binge watch TV, and go crazy), and, to be honest, it's been kind of boring. But then I look at the rest of my summer after next week, and I'll probably be wishing I had some free time.

The rest of my summer will be full of trips to Athens with the sis, trips out west, trips to the beach, and random travel around the area.

I'm kind of struggling with what to write in this post because this week has just honestly not been that eventful. I have been looking at pictures of the places I'm going this summer, and I literately cannot wait. I'll be filling these blog posts kind of like I did when I was in Australia. (Not necessarily a day-to-day kind of thing, but it will probably be more of a what's going on in my life with pictures kind of thing. Expect lots of pictures. That is, assuming I have internet connection from where I am.)

Also, I would just like to note that exactly one year ago today, I was landing in New Zealand to start a month-long adventure where I would make memories that would last a lifetime.

On another note, my sister is graduating from high school this Saturday! WHAT!? How fast the time goes by...I helped her make her schedule for her first semester at UGA the other day. Crazy stuff.

I could sit here and ramble on for hours, but I'm about to go chill with Lauren for a little, so I'll leave the rambling for then.

If you want to keep up with my travel this summer, here and Facebook are the two places to do that!

Be Found.

In a moment.
On a whim.
Through a word.
Unexpectedly.
How are you found?

Take a picture.

Take a chance.
Give love away.
Take your time.
Be found.

Discover the present.

Live for today.
Look for the small things -
Things that leave you breathless.
Find.

Take a breath.

Take a moment.
Don't speak a word.
Embrace it.
Find yourself.

Observe.

Become aware.
Really look.
Look closely.
Don't miss it.

Find and be found.

Enjoy your Tuesday!
Megan

Be found in the singing,
In the dancing,
In the pain.
Be found in the laughter,
In the joy.
Dance in the rain.
